Contemporary quilting inspiration

I know patchwork and quilting can sometimes look a little old-fashioned, so I’ve been on a mission recently to seek out some really fresh, modern designs.

This simple yet striking graphic piece, with its limited colour palette, has to be one of my favourites. It’s the work of Erica from Crafty Blossom, and was designed as a present for the baby son of two graphic designers, so of course it had to be pretty sleek looking!

Perhaps not as stylish, but I think it’s hilarious – an Invader Zim quilt!

This would make a wonderful gift – send Etsy seller emma & iris your favourite nostaligic T-shirts, they’ll make a memory quilt for you. It’d look good made from band T-shirts from gigs and festivals you’ve been to.

Anyone else spotted any interesting or unusual quilt projects recently?
